Review: Hip Hop Candy

I recently did a purchase of Hip Hop Candy because I recent got into scents, fragrance, and many other things. So I decided to try some of their lotions, scents, and candles. And most of all I love Kawaii stuff so I that's how I stumble upon this many years ago. I bought their rings in the past, but not the other fragrances because I wasn't into them back then.

Transaction went smoothly. I had no problems at all. So anyways shipping was good and it took only about 4 days tops. It was apparently free shipping also which made it even better because my little sister and I combined our purchases to save on shipping, but in the end we didn't have to pay for the shipping. Package was very nice and neat. I had no problems with it. In opening the package it smelled really nice, but I'm not sure what scent it was. Now onto the items I purchased.

So it was nice how small they were and she filled all of the bottles at the top. The only downside was it was difficult opening them without having liquid flying in the air and onto some of my stuff. I saw someone else youtube review of hh-candy and it looked like her came with a brush, but mine was just a plastic stick instead.

+ Earth (sample) +
It kind of smell perfumy. Maybe all of them are suppose to smell perfumy since it was samples. It did have an earthy smell to it, but it's hard to say it had some flowery smell to it, but not sure what kind of flower smell. The scent was medium not strong or weak. It wasn't what I expected to smell, but I didn't really enjoy it or hate it. I was having an expectation of smell that did not smell at all I thought it would be.

+ Love Potion (sample) +
This was overwhemling. The smell was very intense. It does have a flowery smell (not sure what it is) and there was a small bit of citrus smell that came along with it. It might've been orange, but I'm not sure. I don't know what it is, but whatever scent she put in it really bothers my nose really bad. It was difficult for me to smell more because of a certain scent it carried on, but I think it was mainly how intense the smell was that bothered my nose. I knew it would smell strong, but I didn't expect it to be more intense that what I thought.

+ Sakura Matsuri (sample) +
It smells very nice and it's so subtle. Not a strong scent and I actually prefer that with my scents. I smell a bit of candy scent because it smelled so sweet. I think I smell a bit of the sakura also with it. I think this was lovely and the title she gave was perfect for this. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I think it matched what I was imagine what Sakura Matsuri would smell.

When I smell this. I do get an image of a farm. This also has this citrus smell followed by a flower smell with it. I think I smelled a bit what I imagine is of fresh fertilize dirt from the ground. It had that expectation smell that I imagine it would have imagine what a Farmer's Market would smell

I had doubts that this would not smell a great as I imagine. But it went over what I expected. Just as described I do smell that jasmine, strawberry and lavender. It's not an overwhemling smell. It was very nice. I love the combo of this scent.

+ Melon Soda (Body Spray) +

You do get the initial smell of that hard melon and then fizz at the end. First it is the melon you smell and then after that the very end you get that bit of smell of the fizz. It's just the same when you drink a melon soda. It perfectly describes it. I was sad that apparently my spray bottle pump is broken. It didn't even work. funny how someone else reviewed she had that same problem also with the spray bottle she got from the site. Well it's no biggie since I can just buy another one at Daiso for a $1.50. But I think it sucks since it is broken. Truth be told I don't think I would use this body spray. The smell was okay, but it wasn't my taste. It feels weird having to use it because when I pour some of the liquid on my hand and rub it on my neck, I feel like I am literally putting melon soda on my neck than a body spray. Also the scent didn't last long. At least I didn't really smell it for hours long. Just less than an hour I'd say. Maybe I am thinking too hard about it. But overrall just as the title described it is melon soda, but I guess it wasn't for me.

+ Toasty Marshmellow (Lotion) +

On my label it says Marshmellow instead of Toasty Marshmellow. So anyways I do smell the toasty at the beginning and later on it's just the marshmellow. I knew since it said toasty it would not have matched what I expected to smell. Remember that black marker burnt marshmellow you use to smelled when you were young? Well I expected it to smell something similar to it or close to it, but I felt it was a little bit off from that smell. I know I didn't expect to smell exactly as it and yet I wanted it to smell simliar since it said toast which I imagine close to burnt. Maybe I expected too much from this smell esepcially when someone reviewed it and she gave it a 10/10 rating. It's really debatable depends what you expect or like. I will definitely say the good thing about this lotion is is it dries faster than my other lotions. I have a lot of lotions that take time to dry it off my hands, but this was the fastest.

+ Bamboo & Lotus Flower (Soy Candle) +

I smell that soft lotus flower and then the bamboo scent right after that. I think this was a perfect combo of the two together. It creates a wonderful scent. The scent is a not too subtle, but it is definitely not intense. The candle scent was definitely not strong to spread across my living room. I had to get really close like my nose close to the candle to even smell the scent. My nose isn't the best, but from even 1 feet away I don't smell it. I am not surprised since the candle is small after all.

+ Sugared Bamboo (Salt Crystal Soak) +

Smells so sugary like a bamboo. That's pretty much all I can describe of it other than the smell is subtle. It's just right and smells relaxing. I did smell the sugar bamboo, but the scent didn't last very long using 1/3 of the jar. I ended up pouring the whole bottle to keep the scent in the bathtub.

+ Lemon Poppyseed Cake (Soap Bar) +

The smell was just wonderful! It is so delicious. I can first smell the frost icing and then followed by the poppyseed scent. It really does smell like Lemon Poppyseed Cake just as the title described. I really just love this one so far out of all the ones I bought so far. It smells so delicious. Not to mention I noticed smelling it further more it sort of smells like Fruit Loops cereal. I don't enjoy the Fruit Loops cereal, but I love the smell it gives off from this soap. The downside is that I was only able to use the soap 4 times in the shower and then it's gone. Q_Q I don't really smell the soap on me, but I smell the scent of the soap in the bathroom air when I was done showering. Oh boy this is just love love love! I regret not buying this in lotion form also.

+ Magical Girl Sctrawberry Scented Body Glitter +

The smell is wonderful! Just a nice smell of strawberry. I adore the sparkles. I had to buy this for the sake of Fairy Kei outfits I wear and I am a fan of that style. Already putting it on my eyes they are just lovely. It isn't overly sparkly or very very flashy. The sparkles they used not too big or too small in my opinion. It's just right! I even put some on my cheeks. It takes quite a bit to get the sparkles off of the cheeks and eyes when I tried them on. Despite the price and small quantity I think it was very worth it because I had a hard time finding a moisturizer with scent that comes along with glitter when I was looking for it online. I will be using this very thrifty. ^-^

I only really love the Lemon Poppyseed Cake flavor & Magical Girl Strawberry Scented Body Glitter which is what I would definitely buy again. But everything else I can do without. I may most likely continue buying her lotions because of how quick they dry off on my hands. I was quite disappointed a bit with my purcahse because out of the $32 I spent I only enjoyed what was acutally $10. I guess that's my loss. It was a lot of hit and miss. Next time just buy all the samples so I don't waste the $19.50 that I didn't enjoy. And also when I was testing out my items I started from the exact order of these. So it started terrible, but at the very end where it was the good ones I started smelling.

Well that's all today. I think I was too critical in my review and it is my first reviewing upon anything. But hey don't take my word for it. As I've noticed through out all my life I never had a strong sense of smell. I see other people review like the Toasty Marshemellow was lovely, but I didn't enjoy it. Go try it out yourself! I am still going to buy again from this shop because of the following I enjoy and also may buy more samples to see if I enjoy her cake/cupcake/muffin series since the Lemon Poppyseed Cake turned out great.

Next review will definitely be my Yumbetenbo/DreamV as the package is coming in 2-3 weeks from now. I can't wait to see what georgous pastel clothing/shoes I get from Japan. ^-^ Thank you for reading!
