Adventure: Anime FX Swap Meet

On October 5th I decided to join an Anime Club at San Francisco State University. It's always every Friday from 4:30-9pm at Thornton Hall Room 428. By far this is my favorite club I've been to hands down. We do something different every week, but I think we still do those same events every semester. Either way every meeting isn't the same for a semester. I know others will take offense, but this is the best Anime Club I have ever been to. There is something different about this club, the atmosphere, the way they do things. It's interesting and very active. Lot of socializing. There's too much to describe my feelings of this club. I encourage those who love Anime and interacting with others to part take in this club.

So anyways this Friday we had hosted a Swap Meet event where we pay a $5 fee for a table and the rest you sell is all the profits you get to keep. I needed 2 tables so I paid $10 fee. I got there at 4:30pm (I wanted to be there at 4:00pm, but we were held up quite a bit). My and my sisters decided to join me for this event to help me sell my stuff. Luckily I got a good spot despite two other people were ahead of me. The best spot in the room in my opinion is the table to the door way out of the room (which was mine). Because for one people come from there and they also go from there. So there is better chances of people taking a look at our stuff and especially since my and my little sister are wearing maid outfits to grab some attention. :) Thank goddness my side of the wall had some hangers so I could hang up my dress. That was a lifesaver. Took me about 40 minutes to set up my booth. I was happy how it turned out. Pretty much everything all the items I wanted were displayed and thank you to Daiso for teaching me how to display items and bringing tons of $1 & $5 so that I can take $100, $50, and $20 bill from people. That place has taught me something that I can bring to my life. I loved how my table turned out. I'm so happy to own a table of my own and sell my stuff. My very first time and I was super excited to go all out for it. I even had a box full of candy for so people to take.

that is my little sister wearing my maid outfit I let her borrow because it looks awkward when I wear that outfit. ;-;

My table was definitely a success. It was a bit difficult at first since I did all the unpack and displaying even the packing up at the end of the Swap Meet. I made $101 profit ($8 goes to my little sister because she sold some of her stuff). I am amazed I made that much actually. I didn't expect to sell much since a lot of my stuff are girly (I was aware of that). A friend told me he made $16, but that $5 went to the table fee. It was better than I expected in terms of my profit. I really enjoyed socializing with other people. Made some new friends along the way. Requited with old friends from high school. And friends that I already knew in college. My sisters made new friends and overrall they really enjoyed this event. I think my sisters were very surprised how the event went over their expectations. Because of so much fun we had there time literally flew by for us and we were shocked how already we had to close down our table. D: It did not feel like the end! But it was. It was just as I expected what I input my table and would get out as a result. I am very happy to own my very first table. Can't wait to spring semester we do another Swap Meet. My sisters will share a table and mix it with Art Commission as I will sell some of my own stuff, but I don't think I will sell that much that semester.

If you want to see more pictures of how the Swap Meet look like Someone took some pictures of the event here. You can see me wearing my maid outfit and I'm surprised he did not take a good shot of me with it. I didn't mind posing. ;A; I know there were 2 other people floating around with cameras there so I'll go and hunt them down for my picture.

Review: Hip Hop Candy 2

Hello, yes so I decided a couple weeks ago to buy another Hip Hop Candy item from her and this time I will just sum it up as I was really not happy with this one. Oh boy I regret it. After this I don't think I may order from her again for a very long time. The package was quite ripped a bit. One of the bottle leaked a bit. At least it was still full, but it was messy. Even the sticker on the bottles were like kind of worn and looks like it got wet because of lotion so the picture was messed up. There is too much to describe how I did not like what I got this time. In addition half of the lotion bottles I ended up not liking their smell. And most of all the main reason why I ordered again was to get another "Lemon Poppyseed Cake" Hand Lotion. But that was the very one in which the cap that got busted open that you will see in my picture all the bottles came out in the package. But my Mom fixed the busted cap. I don't think it was because the mailman shoving it in, but maybe during the shipment. I think she could have package the lotions better in the mail like plastic for each lotion in case it spilled. That's all I have to rant. I know no one would be happy about what I just said, but I was not pleased at all. The only lotion I enjoyed was the "Lemon Poppyseed Cake", "Blueberry Muffin", and "Banana Creme". The rest was just ehhhhhh.... I think I accidentally deleted the picture on my phone of how the package look liked when I got in the mail. Darn......

Sorry for the rant. I was just really upset and if you take offense to this, please do not let this get the best of you. I am not ordering again for a VERY long time even if my favorite Magical Girl Strawberry Scented Body Glitter is on sale and she is still selling my favorite lotion smell Lemon Poppyseed Cake Lotion (2oz). Because I felt I got VERY disappointed this second time. I was okay with the last order, and I was much more pleased when for the very first time I ordered from her many years ago. My first order was just plastic rings and pins. I was very happy with those for sure. The last order she will get from me. I figure I could have contact her about my order, but I get the feeling she may just say it shouldn't have been a biggie that one of the lotion spilled all over my other lotions causing the printed stickers on the bottle to look all splochy and all. In addition none of the items ended up being broken and all the bottles were still filled to the top. But nevertheless I am on a budget with no job and I spent $30 down that drain. And the packaging could have been better for the lotions such as I suggested a plastic bag for each lotion bottle in case it spills.

Next Time: Anyways that's it for now and tune in for my next review of Oo Jia's lolita replica items. I can't wait to see how they will turn out, but one of the skirt I measured too short. o_<

For my next Adventure journal I am going to do an entry about my Swap Meet that my Anime Club is hosting. I am so eager. I will own my very first table. I have always wanted to run my own table and sell stuff. I am going to be giving away raffles, chocolates, business cards, plastic bags for everyone, and tons of $1 stuff at my booth. I will also cosplay or lolita myself. I wish I can do maid outfit.... just maybe.... Ahhhh all the feels and excitement. Even if I may not sell so much as I hope to (bet I may sell very little). The atmosphere and the thought of people crowding around my table for the raffle and free candy. I just can't wait for Friday to come this week~!

Review: Yumetenbo/DreamV

So last Friday I finally for the package that I've been excited that I purchased from Japan about 1 month ago. I am really into Fairy Kei items and along my search I had stumble someone on egl_comm_sales selling something called DreamV. Googled it and found their site DreamV online at Rakuten where they sell their items. I think the company maybe copyright to Yumetenbo since I see that word pop a lot in their stock photos when the models dress up with the item they're selling. I am mostly interested in their "Princess" section with all the wonderful pastel clothings, accessories, and bags. So I purchased two things from them thanks to a special online Japanese Shopping Service called Yokatta. They always make shopping such a breeze with their middleman services. Definitely the shipping and everything else was well packaged. I really loved how well it was package overrall. Now onto my purchases.

I purchased this Green Polka Dot Dress (Size: L for 32 bust, 28 waist) though I was disappointed to only find a couple days later they released another item similar to it, but different touch ups and style. It's much more pricer than mine, but wish they had released it before I purchased the other item. o____<

As I realized the material is very nice. It feels nice. Good quality of the material they used. Does not feel cheap and worth the value of what they're selling it for. In the end I was hoping it would be very "minty" color, but the color was exactly like the one they displayed and NOT the color like the model was wearing the dress. But I still love it as I bought this so I may also wear it as a skirt. It kind of looked odd wearing as a skirt because of the poof at the waist when I try layering it over with a shirt/t-shirt. So it's best to wear it just as a dress instead of any layer over it. I think I'll still keep this one because I love the color green.

Currently: I am selling the Green Polka Dot Dress. You can find it being sold on Ebay. Here it the link to it.

Also I purchase this Princess High Heel Heart Shaped (Size: L for my 6.5W feet) with lovely lacing and big bow to top it off. The quality is really lovely. I don't know why, but I felt the quality and material they used for this shoe is better than Bodyline's shoes material. I can feel it sturdier compared to Bodyline's shoes that I have my own. It has very good cushion at the top, but biggest flaw is that I tried walking indoor with it, I am having a very difficult time because it keeps slipping the back of my feet and thus I must make smaller walks. I wish there was a strap for the middle of my feet, but the heart shape heels is so wonderful to pass up. I may use a ribbon for the back so that it doesn't. I really love it, but honestly if anyone is offering to take it from me I'd be happy to and I would be willing to ship international. I only tried it on indoor and it has some bit of fur at the bottom of the shoes and also dirt from the house, but it is like new.

This is how I look with outfits put all together.

Overrall: 9/10
I loved the items they sell. Everything they sell is so wonderful and I prefer the Japanese style of clothing and color a lot. It's super expensive for shopping service to buy it from Japan, but the quality is worth the price that they sell it for. I wish they would think of opening a store in San Francisco with all the lolita stores going around in San Francisco and other Japanese stores there, I can see it making business there. Bottom line: They need a store in San Francisco & will splurge my money there if they do have one.

Note: By the way I rather not show a picture of me wearing them. The background of my house is too clutter to get a good snapshot of me weaing this dress and I feel I did not have the right body shape to pose this. ^^;;;;

Next Up: So I actually bought some more items at Hip Hop Candy. Been busy to post my do a review for the Hip Hop Candy one because those arrived last week. Waiting for Oo Jia's package of items. In addition made another purchase at Bodyline so you'll be seeing those also posted at some point

Adventure: APExpo & CityTarget (Grand Opening)

So first time going to APExpo. APE stands for Alternative Press Expo. I've heard of it, but I did not know who to go with when last minute my older sister decided to go there for a friends of her is working at one of the booth and I decided to join on a whim that Sunday. The expo lasts Saturday & Sunday. It was only $10 single day registration and $15 for both days. Going there it the vendors was made up of independent businesses that I have not seen at many of the conventions that I go to. I did not recognize any booth from my previous cons. A lot of the booths consist of artist who were selling their drawings and other handcraft items they made. If you want to see how the inside of the expo looked like, it was this stretched all across one floor.

There was a second floor for some event going on. I didn't get to take a look as I was hanging out with my friend's booth majority of the time. This is where my friend's booth was at. It was called I think it was SasuageDog. We bought some things from their booth.

I think their booth was nice and simple. They sold interesting cell phone straps, pins, print art, and comics. I wish I could run a booth, but I have no skills. Later on we left and decided to go to the grand opening of the new CityTarget. Sorry I didn't take a picture. I was super duper disappointed by how dinky it was. And one revolving door directly from outside to Target is just terrible. Not even a sliding door at the side to use, it was only one way. I heard you can enter from another place to get it, but this is the main entrance to outside from Target. Anyways it was only one floor. I expected two floors. I think they may decide to make a bigger Target at Masonic St. Til then Still sucks for now we are stuck with this tiny Target. There was so many people at the opening that they ran out of paper bags to give us so when we were cashing out, they gave us tote bags instead. YEAH!!!! 8D

And that was the end of the day. So here's what I bought at the expo.

Really love the Totoro necklace that I got at one of the booth. The Totoro pin ($3) wasn't that great what they used so don't get that, but necklace was worth it being $15. Can't wait til she opens up a store online because she says she is working on it. I bought the Bulbasar cell phone strap ($5) at my friend's booth. May modify to wear it as a necklace.

Also as always I take freebie postcard, bookmark, pins, and stickers. In addition took business cards on ones that I saw interesting collection at the booth.

I had low expectations which is one of the reasons why I wasn't motivated to go on my own, but in the end I am happy that I did went. It was pretty fun. I enjoy shopping and some people dressed goofy, cosplay, steampunk, or lolita (which was me haha and as always being complimented). I am happy it went over my expectations of what I thought it would be. It was overrall very pleasant and interesting from the WonderCon and AOD we have at San Francisco. I may go next year if I can find anyone to come along with me. o^-^o

So yup that sums up my day on October 14th. Going to PMX (Pacific Media Expo) taking place in LA on Nov. 9-11th. I'll be there for only 9 & 10 since the buddies I'm being drove with have to be back home early despite Veteran's day is on the 12th so no school for me on Monday. Hope I spend little to none at all during that con. >_<
